Aromatherapy helps to restore harmony of mind, body and spirit.

It works with the pure properties of plants, using their essential oils to help improve both physical and emotional well-being.  Aromatherapy oils can be used in a variety of ways—in the bath, in inhalations and in massage.

Aromatherapy massage

Aromatherapy is most effective when used with a therapeutic massage.  The essential oils are absorbed through the skin and through smell into the bloodstream where their restorative and healing properties begin to work, resulting in a positive state of health and well being.  Oils are chosen for their different therapeutic properties and are chosen for each person.  Aromatherapy may be particularly useful for :

  • Improving blood and lymph circulation
  • Increasing energy levels
  • The relief of stress and to aid  relaxation
  • Boosting the immune system
  • Relieving the symptoms of colds, aches and pains
  • PMS, menopausal symptoms
  • Digestive disorders
  • Skin problems
  • Insomnia
  • A general sense of well-being

A full aromatherapy massage usually lasts for about 75 minutes.  During the treatment you are covered with towels to ensure your modesty.  Following a consultation, essential oils are blended with a massage oil, such as sweet almond oil, and are applied using deep or relaxing massage movements as appropriate.
